Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-09-02

PCPartGuide (pcpartguide.com) is a static website. It has no user accounts, no comments and no forms that store your data on our servers. This policy explains the little data handling that does happen.

What we collect

Usage statistics. We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-3ZF89B15LE) to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, the parts people select in the calculator, which results and links are clicked, approximate location, device and browser type. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes IP addresses to do this; we use it with IP anonymisation and do not send names, email addresses or other personal identifiers to it. Google's own policies apply to that processing; see Google's privacy policy and its "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page.

Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, requested URL, user agent, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting. They are retained for a limited period and are not used to profile visitors.

Email. If you email support@pcpartguide.com we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not run advertising networks at the time of writing. We do not store your calculator selections on our servers; when you share a result, the selection is carried in the link itself.

Some links go to Amazon and carry an affiliate tag. When you follow one, Amazon may set cookies on its own site so that a purchase can be attributed to us; we do not receive any personal data about you from Amazon. See the affiliate disclosure.

Cookies

The only cookies on pcpartguide.com are those set by Google Analytics. You can block them with your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the site works fully without them.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests simply concern email correspondence. Contact support@pcpartguide.com.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top of the page.
